CapHat comes with a stainless steel 3/8-24 stud and 3/8-24 threaded hole for the whip. It has four "lobes" -- No dangerous rods sticking out! Constructed of nickel plated hub, four 3/32 dia. 304 SS lobes.

NOTES:

CapHat MUST be used with either a 1' or 2' long extension rod, NOT directly on top of the loading coil.
When the #2 size is used on the Hi-Q-3/80 antenna, it REMOVES 14 turns of the 56 from the loading coil. Or you can shorten the whip by at least 3'.
When the # 3 CapHat is used on the Hi-Q-3 the resonant frequency is: 3.700 MHz WITH NO WHIP! Therefore now you have a 4' tall antenna.
Whichever CapHat you choose, you will need either the 1 foot or 2 foot long Extension Rod, your choice.
